Note: Contributor tools can only be accessed once you have been added to the team for that specific channel or movie.

Accessing the Contributor tools

To access the Contributor tools (Segment Timer, Subtitle Editor, Team Discussions, etc.):

    1. Go to the Channel (Movie/Show/Drama) that you are contributing on.
    2. Once you are here, there are two (2) ways you can use to access the Contributor tools.
First Way – (All Channels)
  1. Play the video that you are contributing on.
  2. Click/Hover-over the gear icon located on the bottom right-hand corner.

  3. This will bring up the player menu to access the subtitle information, tools, and more.
  4. Click on either the scissors or pencil icon. The scissors will take you to the Segment Timer and the pencil will take you to the Subber page.

  5. You will now be on the Subber page.
Second Way – (Channels with 2+ episodes)
  1. Click on the “Episodes” section of the channel.

  2. Look for the episode that you are contributing on.
  3. Hover over the video that you are contributing on.
  4. Click on either the scissors or pencil icon. The scissors will take you to the Segment Timer and the pencil will take you to the Subber page.

  5. You will now be on the Subber page.

      1. Subtitle Editor: Where you can write subtitles or captions (Note: a show must have segments before subtitles can be created).
      2. Segment Timer: Where you can adjust segments.
      3. Team Discussion: A Disqus forum where you can update your team on your progress and what you’re working on.
      4. Team Notes: A user-generated “glossary” and reference sheet to be used when segmenting and/ or subtitling.
      5. Activities: A real-time feed showing which users are working on what and what type of contributions they are creating.
      6. More: Where you can lock and unlock subtitles/segments, access reference materials, and access the Bulk Translation tool.
      7. Video Drop-down: Move from video to video for a show (episode to episode) without having to leave the tools.
      8. Virtual Parts: Divisions throughout a video that can only be seen by the channel team. By having these parts, it allows for multiple users to work on the same video simultaneously.
      9. Chatter: A chat feature that allows you to communicate in real-time with other users who are working on the same video as you.
